      Genevieve C. Plog (nee Fricker), 91, of Highland, IL, died September 1, 2011 at Relais Bonn Eau.

      She was born November 13, 1919 to Victor G. and Marie M. (nee Spengel) Fricker in Highland, IL.  On July 2, 1945 she married Maurice Plog.

      Genevieve was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.  She was a former member of St. Anne’s Altar Society.  She was very active in Church affairs, volunteering to clean Alter linens.  She participated in the Eucharistic Adoration at St. Joseph Hospital Chapel, Highland, IL.  She was also a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved to crochete.

      She is survived by 2 daughters, Deborah (Gary) Wiess, Highland, IL, Diana (Ralph) Sale, Collinsville, IL; 3 grandchildren, Jeffery (Janine) Wiess, Christine Sale, Jessica Sale; 3 great-grandchildren, Thaddeus Poole, Brodie Pitts, Sophie Pitts; 2 sisters, Mildred Oestringer, Margaret Springs; several nieces and nephews.

      She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Erna Stoecklin (twin), Verna Oswald (twin).

      Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Relais Bonn Eau Home, Edwardsville, IL or Highland Animal Shelter.
