    Charles B. Orrell, 81, of Highland, IL, died Sunday, January 16, 2011, at his residence.

    He was born on June 25, 1929 to Leo and Maude (nee Rhoads) Orrell, in Columbus, IN.  On September 17, 1949 he married Helen E. Shiels, in Jeffersonville, IN.

    Charles was a member of First Baptist Church, Highland, IL, where he served on the Board of Trustees.  He served in the U.S. Army in 1946 and 1947 in Japan.  He was an Electronic Technician and worked for Pennsylvania Railroad for 39 years.  He was a member of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Brotherhood of Railway Signalmen, Meals on Wheels, and Highland Food Pantry.

    He is survived by: His Wife, Helen Orrell, Highland, IL; 3 Daughters, Jolene (Mark) Lizotte, Osage Beach, MO, Dee Anne (Joe) Goodall, Highland, IL, Lynn (Craig) McKinney, O’Fallon, IL; 7 Grandchildren, Kris Ann, Jennifer, Heather, Angela, Casey, Charles, Cassie; 12 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Brothers, Ben (Doris) Orrell, Casey, IL, Wayne (Hazel) Orrell, Hidalgo, IL.

    He was preceded in death by: His Parents, Leo and Maude Orrell, 1 Brother, Edward E. Orrell.

    Visitation: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL, and Wednesday, January 19, 2011, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Highland, IL.

    Funeral: Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church.

    Clergy: Pastor Adrian Lamkin

    Interment: Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Restitution Church and Cemetery, Casey, IL, at 11:00 a.m.
