Gloria G. E. Lopez (nee Roniger), of Highland, IL, died December 25, 2010, at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab Center, Edwardsville, IL.
She was born June 19, 1946, in Trenton, IL, to Garvin and Evelyn (nee Bukowski) Roniger. On May 24, 1968 she married Philip Lopez, Jr. They had one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Lopez. They divorced in 1975. On June 10, 2004, she married Alfred “Jess” Jansen.
Gloria grew up in Pocahontas, IL during her first few years and then the family moved to Millersburg, IL, where she lived until the age of 18. She attended Millersburg and Pocahontas grade schools and Greenville High School.
She had many interesting jobs in her lifetime. She also joined Mary Kay Cosmetics in June 1979. She also was a director with Mary Kay for 7 years.
Gloria was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. Also, she was a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 5694.
She loved her family very much and was a caring and loving daughter to her parents, daughter, grandson, Husband, family members, and friends. Her Catholic faith was very important to her.
Gloria loved to dance, travel, in and outside of the United States, cruise, quilt, garden, go to new places and do new things. She always loved a new adventure. She also enjoyed being at home with family and especially enjoyed the Holidays and preparing the Holiday Dinners, and decorating. Christmas was her favorite Holiday.
She is survived by: Her Husband, Alfred “Jess” Jansen, Highland, IL; Her Mother, Mrs. Evelyn Roniger; 1 Daughter, Elizabeth (Kevin) Brutto, Sr., Collinsville, IL; 4 Step Children, David (Charlene) Jansen, Imperial, MO, Selina (Randy) Daniels, O’Fallon, MO, Brad (Gwen) Kunz, St. Jacob, IL, Debra (Albe) Gall, Highland, IL; 1 Grandchild, Kevin Brutto, Jr.; 7 Step Grandchildren, 6 Step Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Rosemarie (Jim Edwards) Weiss, Maryann Steward; 5 Brothers-in-law, Paul Jansen, Andrew (Pat) Jansen, Elmer (Special friend Carol) Jansen, Marcellus (Phyllis) Jansen, Larry (Rose) Jansen; 1 Sister-in-law, Joan (Ron) Bottons, Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Garvin Roniger.
