Harold A. "Powerhouse" Liening, 85 of Highland, IL died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Highland, IL January 5, 1922 to August and Linda (Phillips) Liening and they are deceased. On October 19, 1942 he married Doris M. Bassler in Union, MO and she survives.
He is also survived by a son - Gaylord Dean Liening of Highland; one grandson Jeffrey Dean (Julie) Liening of Des Moine, IA two great grandchildren - Haley and Ashley Liening. two brothers and two sisters - Leonard (Pat) Liening - Highland, IL; Eugene Liening - Highland, IL; Mary Herzberg - Highland, IL Nancy (Art) Capelle, Troy, IL and many nieces and nephews.
He was a veteran of WWII. A charter member of VFW Post 5694 and self-employed doing Tuck Pointing/Contracting.
Private Family Service Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Meridith Funeral Home with Chaplain Charles West officiating. Burial in Highland City Cemetery. There is no visitation.
