    It is with great sadness that we announce Jo Anne Hovatter, nee Bradley, 79, born January 20, 1931, in Denver, CO, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL, lovingly surrounded by her family.

    She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Rebecca Elma Bradley (nee Meyer) and George Bradley; and one son Martin Hovatter.

    Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Donald F. Hovatter, whom she was married to for 55 years; two sons, Bradley (Teresa) Hovatter, Troy, IL, Michael (Deena) Hovatter, Bethalto, IL; grandchildren, Erin, Amanda, Brittany and Nathan Hovatter; sister, Sue Herren, Wichita, KS; niece, Allison (Dan) Angel, Cassville, MO; nephew, Jon (Laurel) Herren, Wichita, KS.

    In 1949, Jo graduated from Puente High School, Puente, CA.  She continued her education graduated from McKendree College in 1967 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.

    She was an adored teacher who retired from the O'Fallon School District in 1944.  She belonged to the Lebanon Woman's Club and was a longtime member of several bowling teams and golf leagues.  She truly loved spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

    Memorials in honor of Jo are suggested to Unity Hospice of Greater St. Louis.
