David J. Baumann, 94, of O’Fallon, IL, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
David was born August 23, 1921, to Barnard and Eunice (Nee Heston) Baumann, who preceded him in death, in Pierron, IL. In 1943 he married Ruth C. Lewis; they had 2 daughters, Sylvia and Elizabeth, this marriage ended in divorce, and she preceded him in death; in 1958 he married Dorothy M. Budd; they had 1 daughter, Sundae, this marriage ended in divorce, and she preceded him in death; in 1965 he married Edeltraud May, they had 1 son, David Wayne, this marriage ended in divorce, and she survives.
He was a member of Mobile Home Park Owners Association. David was born and raised in rural Highland, IL, and attended Forester one room school house. He owned his first motorcycle while in high school. He was a lifelong motorcycle and classic car enthusiast. His first business enterprise was a poultry farm raising 10,000 chickens. Then he purchased, developed and ran Lake Suzanne Mobile Home Park.
He is also survived by his children, Sylvia “Sally” (Tony) Van Natta, Decatur, IL, Elizabeth Pauk, Highland, IL, Sundae Kay (Steven) Bue, Shelbyville, MO, David Wayne (Debbie) Baumann, Belleville, IL; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol LeFevre, Gwynnd, PA.
David was also preceded in death by his sister, Bernadine Whiting.
