Judith K. Meddows, 71, of Lebanon, IL, died Monday, September 8, 2015, at Lebanon Care Center, Lebanon, IL.
Judy was born on August 7, 1944, to Melvin and Viola (nee Lobsinger) Lasco in Belleville, IL. On July 23, 1971, she married Marvin Meddows in Belleville, IL.
Judy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a teacher, not only by profession but also at heart, and left a lasting impression on students for more than 30 years. Judy taught 3rd grade, beginning at Cahokia Elementary and later moving to Belle Valley North. She was the recipient of the V P Fair and Emerson Electric Co’s “Excellence in Teaching” Award in 1989. Judy was a gentle soul who touched all who knew her. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Lebanon, and also the Belle-Valley Red Hatters Club.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Meddows, Lebanon, IL; a son, Grant (Renee) Evitts, Smithton, IL; grandchildren, Logan, Julianne and Travis; sisters, Nancy (Carl) Little, O’Fallon, IL, and Sandra (David) Martinson, Belleville, IL; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Viola Lasco; a sister, Carol Ann Lasco (in infancy); 1st husband, Thomas J. Evitts.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lebanon Care Center and Heartland Hospice for their compassion and care of Judy.

Funeral Service: Friday, September 11, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Lebanon, IL.
