Daniel J. “Dan” Stallings, 71, of Highland, IL, died Friday, May 15, 2015, at his residence.
Dan was born February 1, 1944, in St. Louis, MO. On Dec. 2, 1967, he married Connie Lee Gillespie at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, St. Louis, MO.
He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. He was an avid sportsman and was a football coach for his sons when they were young. He took his family on vacations to see the National Parks several years. He supported all of his children in their artistic and scholastic endeavors. Dan was a store manager for A & P National Grocery Store Chain in Missouri and spearheaded the project to bring Kroger into Highland. He was the manager here for several years and later moved to Texas with Kroger. Dan loved sports cars, and even owned a few corvettes during his time in Highland.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Stallings, Highland, IL; children, Douglas John (Elizabeth) Wright, California, Steven Matthew Stallings, Texas, Johnna Marie Stallings, Texas; grandchildren, Zachary Miller, Skyii Guzman, Maximillion Stallings.

Memorial Visitation: Monday, May 18, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, May 18, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Paul Church.

Interment: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Highland, IL, at a later date.
