      Grace N. Landert (nee Voruz), 98, of Highland, IL, died Monday, November 11, 2013, at Highland Healthcare Center, Highland, IL.

      Grace was born May 18, 1915, to Theodore and Jessie (nee Quinn) Voruz in Highland, IL.  On June 20, 1936, she married Charles Landert in Union, MO.

      She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL, and a charter member of the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary.  She was a seamstress for Hugs Men and Boys and later did alterations at home for many years.  She also quilted for Evangelical United Church of Christ and then stayed home and did Linus quilts for children.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

      She is survived by 1 son, Steven (Michele) Landert, Brandon, FL; 1 daughter, Maxine (John) Johnson, Highland, IL; 3 grandchildren, Scott Hawkins, Kasey Ortiz and Kim Landert; 1 great-grandchild, Riley; former daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Landert; 1 brother, Lewis Voruz; 1 sister, Jessie LaJuennes.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Jessie Voruz; her husband, Charles Landert (May 3, 1967); 1 granddaughter, Autumn Meadows; 2 brothers, Martin and Cecil Voruz; 2 sisters, Ruth Wells and Esther Wolbert.

      Memorials may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ Radio Ministry or Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.

      Private Services are Scheduled.
