      William “Bill” Stanley Gilmore, 94, of Cisne, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his home.

      Bill was born July 22, 1930, in Mt. Vernon, IL at home, to Norbert and Ola (Sights) Gilmore. He married Charlene Thompson on August 24, 1958, at Providence Church in Johnsonville, IL. They had celebrated sixty-six years of cherished memories together.

      Bill retired from Trunkline Gas in Johnsonville. Bill liked to stay busy, he then went to work at Wabash Valley Service Company in Cisne. He enjoyed tinkering around and fixing things. He was a member of the Johnsonville Ruritan Club and Cisne American Legion. He attended Providence General Baptist Church when his health allowed him to. Bill was in the United States Navy and was a Korean War Veteran.

      Bill is survived by his wife Charlene; three sons Norbert (Melanie) Gilmore of Dallas, Texas, Dillard Gilmore of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Myron (Girly) Gilmore of Oxnard, California, and one daughter Diana Gilmore of Harker Heights, Texas; two grandsons Ryan and Skyler; his sister Loretta Callanan and two brothers John Dale Harris and Deon Harris.

      Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Roger Harris and Jessie Harris.

      Graveside Memorial Service: Will be held Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in Johnsonville Cemetery. Friends and family are to go directly to the cemetery.

      Military Honors will be conducted by Anthony Wayne American Legion Post #176 and Wayne County American VFW Post #4535.

      In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Memory of Bill may be given to Johnsonville Ruritans or Providence Church. Donations will be accepted at the cemetery on the day of service or at the funeral home.
