Harriet A. Koebel, 96, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at HSHS St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
She was born on January 24, 1928, in East St. Louis, IL, to Harry and Katie (nee Holz) Gould.
Harriet graduated from McKendree College in 1972, with her degree in teacher education. After her first husband Ralph’s death, she worked for 20 years at Boatman’s Bank, later Bank of America, as an accountant in St. Louis, MO.
She loved God and her family. Harriet was a very compassionate caregiver and provided loving care for many of her family members. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and taking care of her home.
Harriet was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Chapple, who she married in June of 1950; second husband, Delmar Koebel, who she married in June of 1982; parents, Harry and Katie Gould; granddaughter-in-law, Tonya Loehring; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Robert Riggs; niece, Sandy Riggs; father and mother-in-law, William and Priscilla Chapple.
She is survived by her children, Claudia (Mike) Giordano, Nancy (Carl) Saltzman; grandchildren, Brian Loehring, Megan (Doug) Raymond; great grandchildren, Caroline Loehring, Savannah Loehring, Blake Raymond, Grant Raymond; stepchildren, Michael (Gerlinde) Koebel, Barbara (Rick) Nelson, Steven (Sue) Koebel, Beth Koebel; step grandchildren, Sabine Schuster, Christian Koebel, Bridget Nelson, Brian Nelson, Dustin Nelson, Caroline Soderstrom, Brian Koebel; step great grandchildren, Barbara Schuster, Trudy Koebel, Oliver Nelson, Oscar Nelson, Tucker Nelson, Aaron Soderstrom, and Steeley Koebel.
