    James “Jim” Wilson Hedrick, 93, of Mt. Erie, Il. passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Wabash Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center in Carmi, IL.

    Jim was born November 30, 1930, to Wilson and Edna (Putney) Hedrick. He married Marjorie “Marge” Shannon on June 17, 1952, in Mt. Erie, IL. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2019.

    Jim was a retired farmer. He had been a committee member on the ASCS Board and surveyor for Wayne County for over ten years. Jim had also served in the United States Air Force.

    Jim is survived by two daughters Nancy (Scott) Schneider of Edwardsville, IL and Kathy Saxe of Mt. Erie, IL, a son Randy (Cindy) Hedrick of Mt. Erie, IL;  eight grandchildren, eleven great granddaughters and three great grandsons and one on the way and a great-great grandson on the way; also surviving is a sister Jean (Lionel) Harris.

    Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Margie, three brothers Sam, Donald, and Vic also his sister Wilma.

    Visitation: Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home, Cisne, IL.

    Funeral: Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home, Cisne, IL.

    Burial: Will follow in McKendree Cemetery near Mt. Erie, IL. Military Honors provided by Anthony Wayne American Legion Post #176 and Wayne County American VFW post # 4535.

    Memorials may be given to McKendree Cemetery Fund or Anthony Wayne American Legion Post #176 and will be accepted at the funeral home.

    So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He was a great person who will certainly be missed.
