Van Darrell Doty, 93, of Albion, Illinois, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 at Meadowbrook in Grayville, Illinois.

Van was born on June 17, 1930 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois to Austin and Flossie (Copley) Doty.

He was a member of the United States Navy, serving his country for 4 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Albion, Illinois. He was also a member of the NRA. Van worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 32 years. Van enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He also loved to raise cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Annetta Ellen (Bunting) Doty; their son, Kent Austin Doty; his second wife, Donna (Painter) Doty; and a brother, Richard β€œDick” Doty.

Van is survived by one son, Stanley Van (Karen Jan) Doty. He enjoyed 3 grandchildren, Michelle (Trent) Garner, Jana Doty, and Kayla (Bobby) Warren; 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Bob Doty and Gary Doty; and 3 sisters, Joan Brandt, Mary Kennard, and Linda Bare.

Graveside Service will be held Friday, April 12, 2024, 1:00 PM, at Graceland Cemetery, Albion, Illinois. Full military rites will be conducted. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the gravesite.

Van would appreciate casual dress.
