Jack A. King, of Collinsville, IL, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born February 18, 1935, to Arthur and Capitola (nee Row) King in Worden, IL. He married Edna Keplar on November 10, 2000, at the Assembly of God Church in State Park, IL.

Jack was quite literally a “Jack of all trades”, he was a self-employed handy-man skilled in carpentry, painting, and plumbing. Outside of his work he also used his skills to help his friends, family, or anyone who needed it. Five days out of the week you could find Jack at St. John UCC walking his daily two miles at their gym. He was also on a local bowling league at Camelot and enjoyed playing bingo at the Collinsville Senior Center every Tuesday and Friday with his wife. In his free time he loved to go trout fishing at Montauk. Jack was a kind man, always had a smile on his face, and could never go somewhere in Collinsville without getting recognized. He was a great man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Capitola King; first wife, Kathleen (nee Cover) King, and four brothers.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Edna King; four children; three stepchildren; two sisters; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
