    Ken W. Froncheck, 78, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday December 28, 2022, at St. Louis University Hospital, in St. Louis, MO.

    He was born December 30, 1943, to Walter V. and Ella (nee Yurkatat) Froncheck, in East St. Louis, IL.

    Ken was a lifelong resident of Collinsville, was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and had graduated from Collinsville High School. He was proud to be a Collinsville Firefighter for 34 years before his retirement.

    In his retirement Ken loved to spend time outside in his garden. He had green thumb and grew tomatoes and other vegetables that he enjoyed cooking, canning, and especially giving away to his neighbors. Ken also liked to fish and looked forward to his yearly fishing trip to Kentucky Lake with his son and his buddies. When he wasn’t out tending to his garden you could find Ken at home watching his favorite cowboy movies. He was very active in the church and wouldn’t miss a Sunday Mass and enjoyed reading his bible at home. Ken was a treasured father, brother, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

    He is preceded in death by his parents Walter V. and Ella Froncheck; former wife, Shari Bickel; brother, Donald Froncheck; brother-in-law, Vern Howell.

    Ken is survived by his son, Michael Froncheck; daughter, Kathy Froncheck; sister, Elaine Howell, grandson, Curtis Froncheck; nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

    Memorials may be made to the Collinsville Fire Department.

    Visitation: Friday, January 6, 2023, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, IL.

    Funeral Mass: Friday, January 6, 2023, 12:00 pm, Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, IL.

    Clergy: Fr. Michael Haag

    Interment: Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.

    Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

    I always loved spending time with Mike and Kenny. Mike always made sure his Dad was taken excellent care of, I still have a picture of those two getting pedicures❤️❤️

    Over the last few years, I have witnessed with pride, you being a great son and care giver to your father, Although, I only met your dad a few times, he was always a sweet and kind gentleman and was lucky to have you at his side.
