Robert “Bob” F. Wobbe, 94, of Collinsville, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Shiloh, IL.

He was born May 11, 1928, to Nicolaus and Sophia (nee Albers) Wobbe, in New Baden, IL.  He married Freda Brown on March 31, 1984, in Las Vegas, NV.

Robert lived in the Collinsville and Caseyville area for most of his life.  He enjoyed regularly attending both St. Stephens and Holy Trinity Catholic Churches.  He also worked as a machinist for McDonnell Douglas for 40 years until his retirement.

An avid outdoorsman, Robert loved to hunt and fish.  He also liked spending time with Freda at one of several of their clubhouses in Grafton or on Coffeen Lake.  When the weather got a bit too cold, they enjoyed traveling to their home in St. George, Utah.  In his free time, you could find Robert hanging out at the Caseyville VFW with his buddies, watching a Utah Jazz game, or a St. Louis Cardinals game.  Above all, Robert loved his family, he was a treasured father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle; and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Freda Wobbe; parents, Nicolaus and Sophia Wobbe; son, Michael Wobbe; brothers, Herman (Louise) Wobbe, Alvin (Frances) Wobbe, Aloys (Velma) Wobbe, Frank (Elsie) Wobbe, Victor (Betty) Wobbe, Vincent (Mary Jane) Wobbe; sisters, Catherine (Al) Jansen, Ann (Evertt) Anderson.

Robert is survived by his children, Christine (Stephen) Ramsey, Eric (Mary Lou Sanftleben) Wobbe, Scott (Cindy Aydt) Wobbe; stepson, Brad (Jackie) Ward; grandchildren, Shaun (Amanda) Ramsey, Danielle Wobbe, Michael “Alex” Wobbe, Joshua Wobbe, Shannon Wobbe, Josh Ward; great-grandchildren, Dylan Ramsey, Madison Ramsey, Logan Mirabella; 35 nieces and nephews, their families, and many loving friends.

Memorials may be made to Caseyville VFW Post 1117.
