    Donald Ray Schwarzlose, 74, of Lawrenceville, IL, formerly of West Salem, IL, passed away on Monday November 28, 2022, at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, IL.  He was born July 20, 1948, to Carrol Freeman and Juanita (Marx) Schwarzlose in West Salem, IL.  Donald married Vicki Bristow on June 16, 1972, and she preceded him in death.

    He was a lifelong resident of West Salem, IL.  Donald was a member of the First Christian Church of West Salem where he had served as a deacon.  He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger.  One of his joys in life was watching his grandkids play sports.  Donald was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues Fan.  He worked at Champion Laboratories for several years before retiring and while working at Champion Labs he was self-employed doing carpentry work.

    Donald is survived by his daughter, Krista (Brian) Mehrtens; two sons, Kelby Schwarzlose, Andrew (Beth) Schwarzlose; one brother, David Schwarzlose, and ten grandchildren.

    He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Vicki Schwarzlose, and one brother Carrol Junior Schwarzlose.

    Visitation:  Thursday December 1, 2022, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Ingram Meridith Funeral Home, West Salem, IL.

    Graveside Service at Shiloh Cemetery, Samsville, IL immediately following the visitation service at the funeral home.

    Interment: Shiloh Cemetery, Samsville, IL.

    Sorry to hear of Don’s passing. The Schwarzlose family were very good to us when we first moved to West Salem. They had an aunt Tressie that had a heart of Gold.

    So sad to hear of Don’s passing. He was always one of my favorite people and never forgot to smile for my camera when he lived at The Villas of Holly Brook. He has been sorely missed by all of us there. Rest easy Don—til we meet again
