    • Full Obituary

Jeffrey Ray Ross, 54, of Collinsville, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born August 8, 1968, to Eugene and Shirley (nee Gricious) Ross, in East St. Louis, IL.

Jeffrey was a lifelong Collinsville resident, residing on the edge of town where he was able to build his home, which he loved, and enjoy his hobbies with his family and friends. There he loved to build and customize jeeps, then drive them on his property and the back roads. He enjoyed watching all the wildlife near his home, especially the racoons. Jeffrey was an avid deer hunter and was good at it too. He had 17 deer mounts, and countless deer sheds that he collected. When he wasn’t home, you could find Jeffrey hanging out at the Black River, looking for rocks and arrowheads to add to his collection. Jeffrey was a good man; set in his ways, and never afraid to say what was on his mind. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ross; and grandparents, Jean and Julius Gricious, Lydia Ebee.

Jeffrey is survived by his father, Eugene Ross; brother Michael (Cathy Barger) Ross; nieces, Olyvia Ross, Dominique Giovando; nephew, Martin May; and many loving friends.

Memorials may be made to the Illinois Conservation Foundation.
