    Dennis “Denny” P. Reynolds, 70, of Carlyle, IL, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

    He was born on May 30, 1952, in East St. Louis, IL, to Norris and Regina (nee Casagrande) Reynolds. On October 1, 1999, Dennis married the love of his life, Susan Daughtery, in Edwardsville, IL.

    Dennis was a member and attended Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church in Belleville, IL. He was a member of the Association of Bio-Analyst, St. Louis, MO. He was an avid fisherman, cardinal fan, and enjoyed a good game of poker.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Norris and Regina Reynolds; brothers, Lyle Reynolds, Kenneth Reynolds, Lloyd Reynolds; sister, Norma Moore.

    Dennis is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan Reynolds; children, Amy Bolandis, Ann Marie Brendel, Frank Brendel; grandchildren, Kylie Bolandis, Lainey Bolandis, Chelsea (Cole) Jenkins, Carly Brendel, Kyler Brendel, Kole Koehler, Tori Koehler, Tryke Koehler; great-grandchildren, Paisle Kay Jenkins, Liam Michael Jenkins.

    Memorials may be made to the family.

    Visitation: Monday, October 17, 2022, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, at Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

    Funeral Service: Monday, October 17, 2022, 12:00 pm, at Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

    Interment: St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Carlyle, IL.

    I remember Denny being at my brother’s house in Centreville.

    My uncle Denny is one of the most important people in my life. He took me under his wing when I was a kid we did a lot of fishing together mostly at the Carlyle dam, he taught me how to make flies , fishing lures. I will miss you very much . But I know you are in heaven with my mom and grandma and grandpa and your brother Lyle. And I know you met Jesus. I love you very much. We will see you again someday. All the love we Carry for one another is in our hearts forever. And we all have a lot of love for you.

    Susan, words cannot express my sincere sympathy for your loss. I know at this time there is really nothing any of us can do you for you. If something should come up, you have alot of people surrounding you, that would help you, just say the word. Just know that God is there and lean on Him for Comfort. All of us at the campground are only phone call or text away. You and the family and friends are in our prayers.

    +Dear Susan and Family: I have good memories of Dennis and the times we were together in St Louis when
    I was there about ten years ago and the times he visited me and my family here at the Abbey of Gethsemani. He
    was a man ever searching, seeking to care for others and their needs. He helped me understand and appreciate my father’s side of family and sought to be a faithful follower of his Christian/Catholic faith. Being a priest of the
    monastic community here at the Abbey of Gethsemani I have offered the Eucharist for him and will do so again
    on the 17th. May God give him and us all that eternal rest we seek, help us all to live fully the faith we have been given, Fr Michael Casagram, OCSO

    Well my uncle Denny, all your neices and nephews are going to miss you very much . You have touched our lives in a way that that only you could have done. Fishing with you was the best, all the jokes you told all the pranks made us all laugh. I got my sense of humor from you. I remember when I was young you gave me the talk and I remember the look on your face when you were trying to explain things and finally started laughing and let you off the hook cause I already knew about the talk and you said oh thank God you already know and we both were laughing.I knew my mom put you up to it but that look on your face was priceless. You did teach me a lot of other things though. So we said goodbye to you yesterday but we will see you again soon. From all of your neices and nephews we love you, we thank you for being in our lives.

    Sorry to hear you are gone Denny, you were a great friend. Wished we would’ve stayed in touch. You were a good guy so I am sure you are in heaven.
