    Bonnie L. Mayberry (Nee Shinn), 84, of Pocahontas, IL, died Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Greenville Regional Hospital, Greenville, IL.

    Bonnie was born October 23, 1928, in Rock Island, IL, to Frank and Viola “Fern” (Nee Traub) Shinn. On July 17, 1956 she married William E. Mayberry in Jonesboro, IL.

    Bonnie worked retail while she was young, and then moved on to make candy. She worked at Switzers Licorice Co. for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Teamsters Union while at Switzers.

    She loved to Crochete, and even crocheted many baby afghans. She will be remembered for her fried chicken dinners. She loved being a grandma to any child that came into her life. She was an avid BINGO player.

    She is survived by 2 children, Marcia Ross, Centralia, IL, Jay Mayberry, Pocahontas, IL; 1 grandchild, Amy (Daniel) Eller, Ballwin, MO; 2 great-grandchildren, Emma Roberts, Greta Eller; 3 brothers, Charles (Katherine) Shinn, Jack (Rosalie) Shinn, Corkie Shinn; nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Viola Shinn; her husband, Willam E. Mayberry; 1 brother, Maurice Shinn; 1 sister, Shelby Shinn.

    Visitation: Wednesday, January 9, 2013, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.

    Funeral: Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Meridith Funeral Home.

    Clergy: Rev. David Trover, Pastor, United Methodist Church, Pocahontas, IL.

    Interment: Brown Cemetery, Old Ripley, IL.
