    Shirley Osgood Brown, age 79, of Lebanon, Illinois passed away January 3, 2015 with loving family by her side.

    She was born in Albion, Michigan, May 29, 1935 to Cassius and Beulah Osgood.  At the age of 17, she met the love of her life and married Ellis Brown in July of 1953.

    As a stay at home military wife to Ellis early in their marriage, Shirley raised eight children across eleven military assignments spanning 24 years.  She enjoyed scouting, camping and most of all, traveling with her family.  Shirley dedicated her professional life to caregiving and was a Registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years retiring in 2001.  In retirement, she traveled to Europe several times, continued with scouting and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She spent 61 wonderful years married to Ellis before he passed just a short time ago.  She had a very kind heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

    Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Ellis Brown, her mother, Beulah Marie Messing and sons Timothy “TJ” and Roger Brown.

    Surviving are children, Robert (Mary) Brown of Fenton, Mo; Tricia (Wes) Bartlett of Nashville, TN; Rick (Gayle) Brown of St. Louis, Sandy (Steve) Chihos of Orlando, FL; Steve (Elane) Brown of Tampa, FL; Linda (Tom) Biondo of Belleville, IL; Toni Fritz of Lebanon; many grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the light of her life.

    Visitation:  Friends can call from 10:00 to 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, Illinois.

    Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, at the Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, Illinois.

    Clergy:  Rev. Peter Wehrly, Pastor, 1st United Methodist Church, Lebanon, Illinois.

    Interment:  College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Illinois.
