    Rose M. Kleinhoffer (Nee Bonanno), 86, of Highland, passed away surrounded by her loving family and at her home on Tuesday, October 21, 2014.

    Visitation will be held from 4 to 8pm on Friday, October 24, 2014 and from 8am until 12pm (Noon) on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Meridith Funeral Home in Highland.

    Funeral service will commence immediately following visitation on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Meridith Funeral Home.  Interment to take place at a later date.

    She was born September 9, 1928, in St. Louis, MO, to Joseph and Augustine (Nee Palmisano) Bonanno.

    In life, her greatest joy was bestowing unconditional love, nurturing and guidance upon her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was happiest when attending or participating in her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities.

    She enjoyed family gatherings, swimming & sunbathing, shopping, restaurants, reading, following politics, film & television entertainment and watching sporting events with her family – basketball, football and baseball - especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

    She proudly served as a Madison County (IL) Election Judge.  For nearly 20 years she was a member of the IUE local #840.

    She is survived by her sons, Michael A. Kleinhoffer (Diane Gerst) and Dr. John W. Kleinhoffer (Darla Page) of Highland; daughters, Kathleen M. (significant other Keven Gamble) Peeler, St. Louis, MO, Debra A. (Rodney) Zobrist, Highland, Patricia A. (Joel) Harris, Abilene, TX and Tamara A. Kleinhoffer, Highland; grandchildren, Justin & Jacquelyn Rose Kleinhoffer; Tara (Chad) Zobrist, John W. Jr. & Marissa Kleinhoffer; Meredith Rose (Thomas) Canterberry, Chad (fiancé Jessica Arcynski) Fergesen, Jason Fergesen and Cory Peeler; Tyson (Wendi Shimer) Zobrist, Shandra (Matthew McPherson) Zobrist; Joel A. (Shanas Greenfield) Harris, Jr., Stephanie Rose (Robert Mooring) Harris and Nicholas & Alivia Rose Meskil; great-grandchildren, Ashton & Reese Zobrist, Emily, Brandon, Ryan & Andrew Canterberry, Gavin Merkle-Arcynski, Clara & Quinn Fergesen, Ava & Brennen McPherson; Adilyn & Ryder Zobrist; Clark, Emmett & Liam Harris and Molly Mooring; brother, Charles Bonanno; sisters, Katherine, Marie and Mary Ann.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Augustine Bonanno; brother, Anthony Bonanno.

    In lieu of flowers and cards, donations may be made to the Highland Area Christian Service Ministry (HACSM) Food Pantry; monetary & grocery donations will be accepted at the Meridith Funeral Home.
