    Robert J. Brinker, 75, of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 St. Lukes Hospital, Chesterfield, MO. 

    Bob was born March 4, 1938, to Lester and Marie (Nee Chagala) Brinker, in Centreville, IL.  On June 16, 1960, he married Nancy J. Nager at Holy Angels Catholic Church in E. St. Louis, IL. 

    Bob was a computer programmer for the government, specifically for the U. S. Army.  He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.  He was a former member of Highland Jaycee’s and a former Webelos Scout Leader in Highland for the Boy Scouts.  He liked to fish and loved to bowl.  He was a devoted family man and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening.

    He is survived by his wife, Nancy J. Brinker, Highland, IL; 4 sons, David (Darla) Brinker, Pocahontas, IL, Donald Brinker, Highland, IL, Joseph (Connie) Brinker, Kansas City, MO, Mark Brinker, Highland, IL; 13 grandchildren, Dawn (Special Friend Jon Rinderer) Brinker, Julie (Steve) Schonhardt, Jared (Special Friend Devan Roberts) Brinker, Kristi (Special Friend Alan Butler) Brinker, Matthew (Special Friend Olivia Baldwin) Brinker, April (Brock) Stephenson, Daniel Brinker, Luke Brinker, Samantha Brinker, Benjamyn Brinker, Hillary Brinker, Jacob Brinker, Derek Brinker; 12 great-grandchildren, Sierra Rinderer, Brock Rinderer, Alex Rinderer, Logan Rinderer, Andrew Schonhardt, Ava Schonhardt, Michael Schonhardt, Addilynn Brinker, Dalton Roberts, Lily Butler, Ali Butler, Lane Butler; 2 brothers, Lawrence (Dee) Brinker, Michael Brinker; 1 sister, Mary Ann (Fred) Black; 1 aunt, Emily Embrich; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Marie Brinker.

    Memorials may be made to the Robert J. Brinker Memorial Fund.
