      Richard A. “Mitch” Mitchell, 80, of Lebanon, IL, passed away May 5, 2017, at Memorial Hospital East.

      Mitch retired from the Air Force as a MSgt after 23 years of service to his country.  He also retired after 35 years as the owner of the Cedars Restaurant in Lebanon, IL, in February of 2003.  And then went to work with his wife, Sue, in the antiques business until his wife passed away in 2008.  He continued to work part time until he contacted cancer in 2013.

      Mitch was born in Carthage, Missouri, on June 26, 1936.  His parents preceded him in death along with his wife of 54 years, Susanne (Woody) Mitchell, and three of his children, Richard Jr in 1978, Russell in 1999, and Ronda Milam in 2016; Brother Robert Mitchell and Sister Arthena Holtclaw.

      Mitch is survived by his Daughter, Robin (James) Brennan, Trenton, IL; Son, Ronald  Mitchell, Lebanon, IL; Son-in-Law, Jon Milam, Colorado Springs, CO; Grandchildren, Becca (Tom) Barbieri of Virginia, Julie Milam of Maryland, and Rachael Milam of Virginia; Great Grandchildren, Lillian Milam, Emilee Barbieri; Sister, Geraldine (Dick) Holden of Texas; His four-legged Companion for many years, “Baby.”

      Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
