    Patricia Ann “Pat” Green (Stack), 81, of Highland, IL, died Sunday, February 23, 2014.

    Pat was born May 14, 1932, to William and Isabel (Koebel) Stack, in Granite City, IL.

    She graduated from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and worked for 30 years in the field of nursing.  She worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Granite City, IL; Granite City Steel Foundry, Granite City, IL; for Dr. Melvin J. Freedman, Granite City, IL; St. Joseph’s Hospital, Highland, IL; Oliver C. Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.  During that time, she touched the lives of countless patients with her compassionate, kind, and caring demeanor.  She worked in various departments, including the Emergency Room, Surgery, Geriatrics and Special Treatment Room.  She was a nurse of the highest caliber who had truly found her life’s calling.

    A devout Catholic, Pat was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL; a past member of St. Paul Church Choir; a dedicated member of the St. Paul’s Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration.  She was a loving and generous soul who enjoyed music, singing, old movies, swimming and collecting seashells along the beach in Sarasota, FL.  She loved her God, her Church, and her family.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.  Her smile, style and song will be missed.

    Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Greg, Don, James, and Robert Stack, June Riggins and Rosemary Perkins.

    She is survived by her daughter Julie (Scott) Barttelbort, San Diego, CA; her son, Kelly Patrick (Joy) Green, Austin, TX; a granddaughter, Brooke Barttelbort, San Francisco, CA; a grandson, Ethan Patrick Green; a brother, Paul Stack.

    Visitation:  Friday, March 21, 2014, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

    A Memorial Mass will be held in celebration of her life on Friday, March 21, 2014, at 5:00 pm, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

    Memorials may be made to St. Paul Educational Foundation.
