    Opal Dorman, 91, of West Salem, IL passed from this life to the next on March 2, 2020 at Helia Healthcare in Olney, IL.

    She was born October 18, 1928 in West Salem, the daughter of Bessie Pearl (Tucker) and Earl T. Lomas. She married Paul R. “Dick” Dorman on March 4, 1946 in Henderson, KY and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1999.

    Opal was a homemaker and a gifted seamstress. She loved drawing cartoon character-filled greeting cards. She enjoyed trips to the river for fishing with the grandkids.

    She is survived by three daughters: Loretta (Clyde) Young of Dover, AR, Janice (Walter) Troyer of West Salem, and Gail (Dave) Lindauer of Smithton, IL; one son, Tom (Lynn) Dorman of Louisville, IL; two sisters: Irene Dorman from West Salem and Carolyn (Bob) Potts of West Salem; one brother, Eldon (Betty) Lomas of Browns, IL; and 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

    Opal was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

    Visitation will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in West Salem. The funeral service will be held at 11 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery west of West Salem.

    Memorials may be made to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund and envelopes will be available at the service.

    The family requests friends and family dress casually for the service.
