    Melba H. Iberg, nee Mollet, 94, of Highland, IL., born Dec. 28, 1912, in Pocahontas, IL., died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

    Mrs. Iberg was a homemaker. Melba loved quilting, enjoyed chatting with friends, loved living at Highland Home and made a lot of friends there.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Iberg, whom she married Sept. 3, 1941, at Grantfork Evangelical United Church of Christ in Grantfork, IL., and who died June 28, 1995; a son William Iberg in infancy; a grandson, Curtis Pollman; a granddaughter-in-law, Theresa Klein; her parents, John A. and Millie, nee Richker, Mollet; and two brothers, Horace Mollet and Gerald Mollet.

    Surviving are her daughter, Shirley (Lawrence "Slim") Pollman of Highland, IL.; her grandchildren, Charles Klein of Savannah, Ga., Terry Pollmann of New Memphis, IL., Kris (fiancee, Dawna Pruett) Pollmann of New Baden, IL., and Pam (Roland) Richter of Aviston, IL.; her great-grandchildren, Matthew Klein, Jacob Richter and Megan Richter; a sister, Lois (Leo) Goestenkors of Pocahontas, IL.; a sister-in-law, Edna Mollet of Highland, IL.; numerous nieces and nephews.

    Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Highland Home.

    Visitation:  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, and from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

    Funeral:  Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL., with the Rev. Cherie Hambleton officiating. Interment will be in Marine City Cemetery, Marine, IL.
