    Grace “Maxine” (nee Curry) Lanham, 83, of Highland, IL, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

    Maxine was born January 4, 1933, to Robert and Myrtle (Nee Wilson) Curry, at home in Coulterville, IL. On June 5, 1954, she married Wayne E. Lanham in Coulterville, IL.

    She was a member of Marine United Church of Christ, Marine, IL. She was a member of Eastern Star and Highland Christian Women’s Club.  Maxine was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.  She loved to read and play crossword puzzles.  She was a very kind and giving person.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Myrtle Curry; her husband of 60 years, Wayne E. Lanham (July 28, 2014); a daughter in infancy; brothers and sisters, Iola Sasson, Bill Curry, Earl Curry, Marge Stewart, Warren Curry.

    Maxine is survived by her children, Laura (Doug) Hixson, Centralia, IL, Jim (Debbie) Lanham, Florissant, MO, Cindy Terrill, Highland, IL, Steve (Leann) Lanham, Troy, MO; grandchildren, Jonathon (Nichole) Hixson, Garren (special friend, Tori Barbarash) Hixson, Todd Lanham, Melanie Lanham, Kelly (special friend, Junior Cox) Terrill, David Terrill, Steven Lanham, Jordan (special friend, Casey Erlitz) Lanham, Crystal Lanham; great-grandchildren, Hunter Hixson, Hadi Hixson, Michael Lanham; brother, Gene Curry, Coulterville, IL; several nieces and nephews.

    Memorials may be made to Coulterville Cemetery or Shriner’s Hospital.

    Visitation: Tuesday, April 12, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 8:00 to 10:00 am at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

    Funeral: Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 10:00 am at Meridith Funeral Home

    Clergy: Rev. Phil Kershner, Pastor, Marine United Church of Christ.

    Interment: Coulterville Cemetery
