    Marvin “ML” Maedge, 84, of Highland, IL, died Sunday, December 06, 2015, at Des Peres Hospital, Des Peres, MO.

    ML was born October 25, 1931, to Otto and Jennie Mae (Nee Busch) Maedge, in Edwardsville, IL.  On December 5, 1953 he married Mary Lillian “Lil” Williams in Bryantown, MD.

    After High School, he served in the Army during the Korean War.  While stationed on the East coast, he met his wife, Lil. 

    He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Marine, American Legion Post 702, Teamsters Local 525, Farm Bureau, Woodman of the World, Senior Citizens of Pin Oak and was a Trustee for Marine Township.  ML was a hard worker.  He loved to bale and haul hay, straw and wheat.  He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  ML enjoyed going hunting and to the Marine Coffee Shop.  He didn’t miss a sale or auction related to farming.

    ML is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Jennie Mae Maedge.

    He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lil Maedge, Highland, IL; children, Wayne (Angela) Maedge, Highland, IL, Mike (Susan) Maedge, Highland, IL, Todd (Beth) Maedge, Marine, IL, Tami (Alan) Rode, Highland, IL; grandchildren, Jamie (Scott) Dressler, Michelle Maedge, Dana (Jared) Suhre, Brent Maedge, Tara (Bryan) McKinney, Travis (Lauren) Maedge, Tyler Maedge, Kassie Maedge, Kortney Maedge, Kyle Maedge, Amber Rode, Devin Rode; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, Parker and Cooper Dressler, Aiden and Kellen Suhre, Aubrey, Addyson and Bryson McKinney, Devin and Easton Maedge; sister, Dorothy Ransom, Marine, IL; niece, Sherri (Paul) VonEye.

    Memorials may be made to Marine Fire Department.

    Visitation: Tuesday, December 8, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday, December 9, 2015, from 8:00 to 9:00 am, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

    Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Marine, IL.

    Clergy: Fr. Pat Jakel

    Interment: Marine City Cemetery, at a later date.
