    Louis E. “Nook” Kovach, 85, of Pocahontas, IL, died Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Legacy Place in Breese, IL.

    Nook was born September 7, 1931, to Louis and Lena (nee Toth) Kovach, in Highland IL. On July 6, 1952, he married Fay E. Werner at E & R Church in Highland.

    He was a member of the First Christian Church, Greenville, IL, the American Legion, and the Masons, in Pocahontas, IL. He liked to fish and snowmobile up north every winter. He was a big Cardinals baseball fan and loved college basketball.

    Nook loved to be around his family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    He survived by his Wife, Fay Kovach, Pocahontas, IL; Children, Bryan (Susan) Kovach, Pocahontas, IL, Bruce (Karen) Kovach, Pocahontas, IL, and Brenda (Art) Hayes, Highland, IL; 6 Grandchildren, Jessica (Jeremy) Fenton, Joel (Margaret) Kovach, Zach Hayes, Jake (Krystal) Hayes, Luke (Cathy) Hayes, and Blake Hayes; 7 Great Grandchildren, Grace, Katie, Austin, Aryanna, Ashlynn, Max, and Elliott.

    He was preceded in death by his Parents, Louis and Lena Kovach; Brothers, Elmer Kovach, Edward Kovach, and Eugene “Popeye” Kovach.

    Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the Family.

    Graveside Service: Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 2:00 pm, at Robinson Cemetery, Pocahontas, IL.
