    Leonard E. “Len” Daiber, 74, of Highland, IL, died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Faith Care Center, Highland, IL.

    Len was born October 8, 1940, to Andrew and Sarah (nee Tabor) Daiber in Highland, IL.  On September 29, 1962, he married Alice Mueller in Aviston, IL.

    Len’s dedication to the Beatitudes led to the founding of Missions International with the support of his wife, Alice.  Missions International actively touches the lives of over 1 million people in Guatamala, Haiti, Venezuela, and Ghana on a daily basis.

    He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree Assembly and Highland Rotary Club.  He was involved in the founding of the Highland Area Christian Service Ministry, in 1995.  Len served on the St. Joseph Cemetery Board for more than 20 years. He participated in Perpetual Adoration, and Cursillo.  He served on the finance committee for St. Paul Church and was a member of the school board for St. Paul School for many years.  He was instrumental in starting the communion service to the nursing homes and shut-ins.

    Len loved spending time at his cabin, with his grandkids, and outdoors.  He was an avid hunter.  He really enjoyed hunting and finding arrowheads with his grandchildren.  He was a quiet example of his faith and devotion for his family.  One of those examples was his 50 year marriage to his wife, Alice.

    He is survived by his children, Denise (Dan) Ervin, Gooding, ID, Bryan (Amy) Daiber, Russellville, AR, Tim (Gena) Daiber, Vandalia, IL,Shelly (Craig) Sands, Highland, IL, Mari (Layne) Krumwiede, Lewistown, MT, Andrew Daiber, Minneapolis, MN; 23 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Alvin Daiber, Highland, IL, Charles (Ruth Ann) Daiber, New Baden, IL; 2 sisters, Doris (Cletus) Bugger, Highland, IL, Barb (Vern) Rakers, Highland, IL; 1 sister-in-law, Marguerite Daiber, Pierron, IL; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Daiber (September 23, 2013); parents, Andrew and Sarah Daiber; brothers, Paul Daiber and George Daiber; sister-in-law, Rochelle Daiber.

    Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Education Foundation (Leonard & Alice Daiber Scholarship Fund) or Missions International.

    Visitation:  Tuesday, June 30, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and Wednesday, July 1, 2015, from 8:00 to 9:30 am, at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

    Mass of Christian Burial:  Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

    Clergy:  Fr. Pat Jakel, Pastor

    Interment:  St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
