    Gloria J. Baker (Nee Reynolds), 87, of Highland, IL died Friday, February 7, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

    Gloria was born February 21, 1926, to James W. and Vera May (Nee Douglas) Reynolds, in Mason, IL.  On October 6, 1946 she married Leo S. Baker in Mattoon, IL.

    Gloria was a member of Broadway Christian Church, Mattoon, IL.  She was a Past President of Trainmen Ladies Organization, Mattoon, IL.  She lived to serve others.  She worked with the Piece Meal Program, Mattoon, IL.  She was recognized by the City of Mattoon as a Top Volunteer for the community.  She was a very caring and giving woman with her time and efforts.  She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    She is survived by her son, Dr. Arlen “Cord” (Barbara) Baker, Highland, IL; 3 granddaughters, Dr. Audra (Dr. Derrick) Ward, Overland Park, KS, Jamie (Douglas) Kuehl, Troy, IL, Kristi (Corey) Perigo, Alhambra, IL; 2 great-grandchildren, Barrett Ward, Skylar Perigo.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, James W. and Vera May Reynolds; her husband, Leo S. Baker (7/31/1994); 1 sister, Theda Reynolds in childhood.

    Memorials may be made to Mattoon Senior Center, Mattoon, IL or Highland Hope United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Highland, IL
