Aaron Hencke, 86, of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.
Aaron was born June 22, 1929, to Aaron and Velma (nee Keller) Hencke in Millersburg, IL. On December 4, 1954, he married Loretta Weiss in Highland, IL.
He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. He was also a member of the VFW Post 5694 and the Moose Lodge, Edwardsville, IL.
Aaron attended school in Pierron, IL. In 1949, he started at Alton Box Board, but in 1950 was drafted into the Army for the Korean War and stationed in Germany in the US Army Infantry Division. He served 2 years in the Army, and then returned to Highland and resumed his job at the Box Board. After working there for 41-plus years, he retired in 1991 as a Supervisor.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta J. Visitation: Tuesday, May 10, 2016, from 9:00 to 10:00 am, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, May 10, 2016, 10:00 am, at St. Paul Catholic Church.
